The popular and controversial song of the 90s ‘Choli Ke Peechhey Kya Hai’ from the movie ‘Khalnayak’ has been reworked by the maestro A R Rahman for Danny Boyle’s movie Slumdog Millionaire .
Who can forget Madhuri Dixit ’s jhatkas and matkas in the Subhash Ghai flick. Now, Rahman has chosen this song for the soundtrack of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ as it suits the mood of the film and represents the era of the 90s when songs were vibrant and colourful. Moreover, Rahman has recorded the song with the same singers – Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun , respectively. But the music director has reportedly recreated the song in his own way without distorting the essence.
The famous track was composed by legendary music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Though Ghai knows about the news, Pyarelal, who survives without his friend-cum-composer Laxmikant, is unaware of the song being used. The soundtrack album of Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is coming post the international release of the movie. The album will hit the Indian market by December 12. The movie has four songs in all. A R Rahman has worked with rap artist Maya for an English track to be featured in the album and he has recreated another track ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ by Shankar Ehsaan Loy from the movie Don . Rahman has even done the background music.
