Last we heard her say that she hasn’t signed any film after her comeback film, Aaja Nachle. But here’s the latest on Madhuri Dixit Nene. She is all set to play an out-and-out comic role for the first time in her career in Meghna Gulzar’s film titled 36-24-36. When contacted, director Meghna confirmed the news. "Yes, it’s true that we are in talks with Madhuri to play the protagonist in a comedy film. But it’s too early to discuss anything right now," she told us.

Dhak-Dhak in Denver!
- Published 07/19/2008
The show’s begun, and Madhuri Dixit Nene is slated to dance for the Bachchans all across the US from July 26, with audiences knowing little of the preparations the Dhak-Dhak girl had to endure to get up there live on stage after 15 years.

Husband Dr Sriram Nene, who was gung-ho about her participation, expressed doubts about how she would make time to attend the strict rehearsals Shiamak Davar was putting the cast through in Mumbai. “He asked me whether I was ready to go through the grind... with my kids and all,” said Madhuri to BT from her home in Denver.
Then Shiamak showed his best move of the rehearsals. He sent dancers Sura and Nazim, the couple that runs his studio in Vancouver, to Denver to put the Bollywood dancing diva through her new paces. “Oh boy, Madhuri was not only a fab student, but she’s a mind-blowing human being as well,” exulted Shiamak. She practised six hours day, with sons Arin and Aryan joining her sometimes. “I feel it’s like re-connecting with my past,” revealed Madhuri who is dancing to her old hits and returning to active work for the first time since her disastrous comeback to Bollywood last year with Aaja Naachle.
She is happy to work with the Big B with whom, in Bade Miyaan Chhote Miyaan, she did a song... but more excited about the duet she is to do with Bachchan bahu Aishwarya. Incidentally, Madhuri’s first such world performance was in 1994 and it included newcomers like Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Kapoor!

Bachchans keen on Madhuri

Ash played the perfect bahu as she personally called up Madhuri Dixit's husband Sriram Nene to assure him that his wife won't have to stay away from home for too long due to the Bachchan's world tour. According to sources, Madhuri's participation in the Bachchan's world tour was quite an uncertain affair till Aishwarya decided to take matters in her own hand. Of course, she was at her charming best and smoothly managed to convince Nene to let Madhuri join them. Needless to say, the dancing diva of Bollywood is a precious addition to The Unforgettable tour. A source close to Aishwarya says, "Ash made sure that Madhuri doesn't travel outside the US for her performances in The Unforgettable tour as she needs to stay close to home because of her two children."

He has designed a formal red gown which, he says, is understated. “And a gold heavily-embellished corsette and a black lehenga with svarovski which is going to team up with earrings, choker, maang tikka, bangles, waist belt and payal,” adds the designer.
Reza, who’s always designed Madhuri’s film and personal clothes and even done her wedding trousseau, communicated with the actress by e-mail. He sent her sketches in the US and she approved of them. “We couldn’t do fittings, but I know her measurements,” says Reza. How? “She has not changed much,” he reveals with a laugh.

Mads-Ash give Neeta hard time
- Published 06/10/2008
I'm told the Bachchans have been very keen on making The Unforgettable Tour a huge success. And Madhuri Dixit has agreed to join in and perform the Dola Re number from Devdas with Aishwarya Rai.
The hitch is this: the two women now want completely new costumes and since they're based in different continents, poor Neeta is going crazy...and perhaps secretly hoping that the two don't fight over the weight of the lehenga this time.
